Jia Yu CNY Special (Part V)

Here are some more pictures taken during my trip at genting. These are misc pictures taken throughout the 5 days up there. eventhough its tiring working there, but no doubt, we all had plenty of fun.

Sitted down, waiting to be assigned on the 1st day. It was quite a mess on the 1st day though cause nobody planned for anything. we just solve problems as we go.

a gorgeous gal who takes care of the finances, Vanessa. I took this picture by surprise. she still thinks that i've deleted it..lol

Everyone's resting inside the secretariat room after every task is completed.

The mountain high of mineral water is not even enough for the 5 days event.

Everyone looks busy but actually.. they were all playing games..lol.. just to release the stress... :P

More gamers... lol

Ben, taking a nap while waiting for our lunch..

showing off my tag which has the access to anywhere for the 5days..

Knocked out on the last day.. he was actually sleeping when we had our last briefings.. lol..

Chinese New Year 08 (Part I)

wat a way to spend the 1st day of CNY 08.. I was back in town.. namely Miri, Sarawak, Borneo.. After the reunion dinner with my family, I decided to head out for a stroll.. wanted to head to the clubs in town but the crowd was devastating.. empty.. every single one of the clubs r empty.. so anyways, I took a spin and finally decided to settle down at coffee bean, Bintang Plaza.

The service was absolutely horrid. The lady at the counter weren't smiling at all... and the pace of the order was really slow. That weren't that bad. My Coffee was cold when I asked for a hot drink. And when I sat at my table, it weren't clean properly. There were some sugar and the table was still wet. My sofa was dirty with lots of chocolate bits on it. When I take a peek round, I notice there were a few other table which weren't cleared. So I waved to no avail. And I walked to the counter to make them change my drink to a hot one. and asked em to clean my table. I went back to my table and waited a couple of minutes. No one came. so I waved again and this time a grumpy staff walked over to clean my table. He didn't even asked to be excused or apologize at all. Anyways, that's the last time I'm going to visit Coffee Bean Miri. Ugh.. Talk Bout lousy customer service :(

My HOT Coffee on the table after much complain bout the hygene of the place. The coffee wasn't taste good either and they called themselves "Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf"

Working on my assignments on the 1st day of CNY

No doubt, they have a lovely showcase.. that's the only thing which is attractive.

Jia Yu CNY Special (Part IV)

Took some shots with my K800i inside the hall... took a rest and walk bout genting.. but when i heard some noise.. i went into the "arena of stars" and saw the rehearsal.. so y not? take a video as a memory... but its a very lousy quality video.. well... better than none rite?

well, talk bout restaurant.. the "Old Town" in genting highland taste quite all right. I tried their "Nasi Lemak Special" and the "Rendang".. both of these dish taste good. but not the coffee though. mayb i've been drinking tons of coffee lately (Im a beginner in this coffee drinking line) and i can't differenciate good coffee or bad coffee.. but the coffee is not too bad.. just can't feel the kick out of it. :P

after missing out on our lunch cause me and my other colleague went to Genting hotel to settle the accommodations and the F&B guys kinda forgotten all bout us.. anyways, he told us it was because they haven't took our orders. so the gal who was in charge of the finances pass us RM50 to go and have lunch.. and our budget per person was only RM12 - 16. so we head off towards the opposite building where all the food is and settle ourselves at the old town cafe. I wanted to sit inside but my friend wanted to try eating out in the cold.. so we got the table outside the building and ordered. The waiter was not at all friendly and polite. I wasn't so happy on that.. anyways, hunger strikes.. who cares bout the service... but i did.... sadly... anyways... so the food came and the waiter just chuck our food on the table... i was pissed but the portion was quite handsome and looks good... so i forgive him... and feasted on the food with my friend.

it was a feeling lunch at 3pm and the food and drink came to aprox. RM30.. so we r still in our budget... lol...

Sitting outsite in the cold to have our lunch. Luv the interior design of the place though. lots of wood used.

It ain't that cold actually. I wore a beanie cause i din wanna style my hair. I've got 2 beanies, 1 buff headwear and 2 bandana.

  4. Ya Atau Tidak - Erra Fazira

  7. Unfaithful - Rihanna

  3. Kasihnya Laila - Jinbara

  5. It’s Gonna Be Me - N’Sync
  6. Izinku Pergi - Kaer
  7. La Camisa Negra - Juanes
  8. Kisah Kau Dan Aku - Alleycats
  9. Ku Juga Mencintai Dirimu - Saiful
  10. Azura - Jamal Abdillah
Seriously speaking, I've nvr heard of any of the songs above cept for the N'sync.. and I don't listen to them.. lol.. well, I don't listen to any malay song either.. cept for the classic Isabella by Amy search, and hmmm...... anyways... so.. i went through youtube.com to try to find any of the tracks above.. and i thought the song by Saiful - Ku juga mencintai dirimu sounds familiar... sounded like one of the songs out of the meteor garden series... and I don't watch em either.. lol.. anyways... i look for the lyrics and tried to memorize the whole song... well, eventually I did memorize the whole song.. cept that i've not the chance to practise it with the music as the background.... so anyways... the day came for me to head down for the audition.. so...

I woke up at 7 and took a bus down to Kelana Jaya at 8am. And I took a train down to KLCC and walked down to ampang park. The audition was held at the PNB Darby Park, Kuala Lumpur. Anyways, I reached my destination at 9++.. and to my shock.. the queue was unbelievable long.. I went to the booth to pick up my entry form, went to photocopy my IC and followed the long stretch of homo sapiens and what shock me most was the queue seemed endless...
The early queue behind the building..

The long queue in front of me

and the long queue behind me....

anyways... its not.. so i stood directly out in the open at the rear of the building.. so that was not the worst thing which could happen.. The rain came... just drizzle but we are all out in the open.. so .. we all got a bit wet.. for more than 1/2 hour.. until the "RELA" personnel decided to save us the misery.. asked us to queue inside the indoor carpark.

another long queue view... inside the carpark

So I continue my quest to memorize the malay song inside the carpark. Well, then came another crisis.. the participants started to smoke inside. I had to cover my nose with my coat. anyways, then I decided to take out the booklet which they gave us. the 1st page flew out but I caught it in mid air. the people behind was shock, kept on laughing and told me that I'm like a kung fu master :P I made friends with them and the 2 other person in front of me. did I mentioned that I'm one of the few chinese participated... yeah, like less than 10 i think.. so I was inside the carpark for almost 2 hours before we finally reached the inside of the building.

ugh... almost there.... almost into the building... almost free from smoking zone....

The Akademy personnel who help to remind us to have everything prepared while we waited.

The booth... finally

That was not the end of the queue. So tat took me another 2 - 3 hours before I finally reached the table to register my name.. but these organizer are such a comedian... registering ur name doesn't mean u've registered ur number.. we have to queue again to register our number right after. Weird how these race of people's brain work ????

sitted outside the building after a long day queuing while waiting to register our number

Everyone seemed confused because they never gave us any proper instruction

The ambulance waited outside just in case anyone... emmm... well..

trying to get out of the stuffy atmosphere inside.... would rather sustain the heat from the sun..

taken while I was trying to memorize the malay song

Then come the fun part. I was told that we don't have to wait in the queue to register our number cause lots of the participant complained that it was too hot to queue under the sun outside the building. and that was after another 2 hours queue under the hot glaring sun. so I walked bout still trying to memorize the song and finally went in to sit. while i was sitted inside, I saw an old lady in scarf standing by the side scanning through the place. Nobody actually took the initiative to offer her a seat. I stood up, took my chair, walked towards her and offered her my chair and stared at all the Malays participant sitted comfortable near her. And I went to sit on the floor by the wall.

The herd of homo sapiens sitted inside.. some sitted on one sit while their leg rested on one.. and there were tons of people standing and sitted on the floor... sigh.. these race of people...

some of these people are not even the participant and they hog the seats..

almost into the audition hall..... finally...... the 11 hrs wait is over...

My turn came and I went to sit at the designated chairs to be called in. The guy who gave the instruction for us to enter was such a chatterbox... He won't stop even if his tongue was cut off.. sheesh.... it was horrible.. making lame jokes which weren't even funny...

So we went through the small corridor, up the lift and into the audition room which was quite sound proof.. I was the 3rd last to be called up the stage.. luckily... cause when I went up, I totally forgotten all my lyrics... I think i was overly nervous... and the music got into my head.. I've just remembered.. I've totally forgotten to practise with the music... so they played the music.. nothing came out of my mouth... and they stop to asked me why.. and I told them the reason.. they were nice enough to give me a 2nd chance... asked me to since in chinese.. but I seldom listen to chinese songs. so I blew the 2nd chance. Made a fool out of myself... and came out laughing bout it.... "oh well, there is always a next time".. this time I'll come prepared...

How I memorize my lyrics... kept on writing it out... i've repeatedly written the lyrics for more than 30 times..... this was the master copy.... :P

Accident at USJ construction site

It was just one slow evening when my friends and I decided to drive by just to pick up some grocery at Summit, Subang Jaya. While driving home, we came across a huge abandon construction site filled with fire engines, police patrol cars and pedastrians. So we got a bit curious and nosey and parked by the side of the road to investigate. in the beginning, my friend thought it was just some malaria site because the site had became a huge pond, good enough to be a mosquito habitat.

so I walk up to one of the rescue officers and asked if i am allowed to climb through the hole to see what happened. Telling him that I am a student :P so he told me to catch a quick glimps and go because his head of department is somewhere near and wouldn't like it. so my friend and I went in and had a quick look while I took out my trusteed K800i to take a few shots. We climb back through the hole in the fence and Heman, My friend wanted to go. well, being the more nosey me wanted to investigate more so i asked them to wait for me at the car. I walked all the way to the other side of the site where all the police and rescue team was and took more shots.

I walked up to one of the pedestrian, a couple actually and asked whether they knew what happened at the site. They told me that someone drown in the pool. The guy or guys was fishing there but somehow fell into the pool. But the most mysterious part was how did the fish went into the pool which had no exit or entrance. The guy had been missing for 3 days now. They doubt that he is still alive. I've not seen or read any article on the newspaper regarding the issue so I doubt that they have found anything yet. They tried to drain the whole pool as their last resort. When I was about to leave, they just plug in the 2nd hose to suck out the water. so hopefully all the water will be drain within couple of days..

Here are some pictures taken.. if you wanna know, its at USJ, Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia.

The fire engine parked outside the site with tons of motorbike beside it.

The rescue personnel standing beside the edge to inspect the chairs below where the civilian fish.

The chairs below are where the people fish.

The dangerous site where it should had been sealed from the public.

The curious pedestrian trying to squeeze through every single hole they can find.

Tons of Motorbike parked outside, caring society or nosey society?

Our Heroic government personnel trying their best to help.....

The huge hose pumping out the water from inside the pond to the huge drainage system by the road side.

The other side of the site where the water was being drain.

Tons of onlookers..... crowding the place but doing nothing but gossiping..

They are trying to pull another huge hose to pump out the water.....
