Miri Luak Esplanade

Definitely a long long while since i last stepped foot on these lovely sandy stretch. It's so much different from the 1st time i was there back in 1995 before it was even developed. I had to force myself through the thick tall weeds separating it from the main road. Then came the fishermen who cleared a small path and before you knew it, gov came in and made it an authorized tourist spot. Other than ppl flocking in, the rubbish seems to always train behind. It's not as clean as before but still its a lovely place to visit if you come round to Miri, Sarawak.

I remember I used to hang out here so much that a lot of people mistook me as an Indigenous. Well, I do have a small amount of Head hunter Blood in me but I've never seen any of my relatives from that side of the family. Probably Great Grand-dad married her and moved to town and lost contact. Anyways, I've never taken any heads before so I'm not a graded warrior.. :P

This beach brings back so much memories from taking an hour nap here after every O'Levels Exam daily before I go home to study till having couple of my dates here. But now, it's just me who make random visits cause the sound of the wave made me feel so free. As if the waves would wash away all my worries and pain.

well, anyways.. it's a great beach to visit and come in the late afternoon if u don't wanna get burned + there are hawkers selling lots of food here then. but if you are looking at having a relaxed sunbathing session.. 8am is a nice time to arrive :)

Down In Melacca, the historical City

28 Mar 2009 - whoa, the 1st thing I reach Melacca was to eat... eat.. and eat... hahahaha, i know, i know.. there goes my diet.. but hey, if you are in a place where you have never been to, the only thing you can think about is to eat 1st right... anyways, my 1st meal in Melacca was CRAP :P hahaha... guys, if you are reading and about to make a trip down to Melacca, don't eat at the station... most of the food there are meant to con foreigners... except the McDonalds and KFC of course.. there are here to con us :P muahahaha....

anyways, I went into a restaurant saying that they are true melacca cruisine... but, its a mamak and the food there were either too salty or tasteless.. anyhow, I looked at the selection and boy, I don't wanna spoil my mood.. so I ordered "Nasi Goreng Kampung" and by looking at every1's plate, I ordered to have it extra spicy with the ultra hot chilli, Cilli Padi. and then I ordered extra chilli and a curry sauce just so i can cover the taste.. they say, when you take too spicy, you tongue numbs out the taste :P

I had to wait for the runner to come and pick me up...... (Can't blog too much bout the shoot cause its confidential) anyways, all i can say is that the shoot is done in Jonker street and the Hell's Gate.

Anyways, i had to wait for my scene which is late at night. so all i can do then was to go out and look for food:P I asked around and they told me that if you are down in melacca, you have to try the cendol *Shaved Ice dessert* so they asked me to walk down the street and cross over the bridge to try the mamak cendol. its the best in the city they claimed. Its located at the Jalan Masjid Selat Melaka. Easy to find, just a river across from Jonker Walk. anyways, I tried it and it was fabulous compared to the ones here in KL. The cendol was soft and the peanuts are not powderish. the sweeteners just right and well... try it. I walk over to the other stall after that to buy some fried fritters to bring back for the crew.

well, of course i did walk around the area but i don't wanna wonder too far just in case they need me for some shoot. I took a peep at most of the stalls around there and most of the stuff are over priced. anyhow, on my way back, i came to a very authetic stall which sells cendol and some other stuff. anyways, the guy's a bit soft and after chatting a while he got really comfortable and started being touchy.. emm.. i had to leave of course... lol

Anyways, the shoot started and we only managed to finish off at 4am the next day. and that was because it started raining :P anyways, i was being treated as a celebrity and they called me star.. but i refuse to accept the lable as Im not a star but an ACTOR. Anyways, there is a big difference.. I guess you will have to know me to know what are the differences as I constantly remind my friends who are into the industry. :P

oh well, the next day started at 11am where we had our lunch and prepared to make our trip back since our shoot was cancelled. Oh, the best part bout this trip was meeting Jey Tong, a superb Martial artist who won the world champion title in International Wushu competition and got the 3rd place in Olympics. He a fellow Borneon and a brother in Hakka. We come from the same clan too :P lol.. we click right away :) its a pleasure to know u Jey :) anyways, i hitchhiked his car to return to KL but we decide to take a trip down to jonker walk eat. Halfway there, the crew called and told us that we have a shoot tonight. lucky we didn't went on the highway.. lol anyways, I just love the design and construction of the buildings in Melacca.. If given the chance, I would love to head back there for a photography trip. Il bring my SLR down this time :P

we had nyonya cendol this time with rendang rice noodle and curry laksa. the food was fabulous. Once again, its over priced too since its in the tourist attraction list. While eating, we encounter a group of Chinese Tourist from Taiwan. The tour guide was a jackass. She was really rude to me when she wanted her tourist to share my table. of course i don't mind but the way she ask was too much. anyways, I started chatting with the tourist and suddenly, the tour guide walks up to me and say "Jangan Bagi tau apa apa" (Don't tell them anything) I was shocked. does that mean that they are cheating on them? OMG.. Of all the people, They are the only person the tourist rely on and trust for the whole trip. Do you want your tour guide to do that to you when you are overseas in a foreign land? These tour guide are making a bad name on malaysia. How can any foreigner trust us!!

anyways, we went back to the apartment to wait for our call time which in the end was cancelled too. I slept the whole day though cause i was really tired..

I woke up early the next day. wanted to round some of them out to sight see but all of them were still sound asleep. so I went out alone. walking aimlessly cause i didn't know where to go. anyways, I went into a Nyonya cafe and ordered Siam Noodle. weren't too bad but not spicy enough. but its catered for the general public. But the food was nice and simple. the price is quite reasonable. so I started walking again and came to a very interesting landscaped building I walked nearer and it says Emily Backpackers. I was thrilled cause that means i can stay there the next time round. so I rang the bell and the guy came out. He says, "Sorry, only for foreigner." well, i was disappointed. but then again, I thought no harm asking for the price so the next time my friends who comes by for a visit can stay there. The guy refuses to tell me the price and told me there is no point asking for the price anyways. Why so secretive about the price? is it too pricey and overcharge? i wonder??? hmmmm.... anyways, I continued on walking and came to a awesomely design building. I walked nearer and it says "Persatuan Klan Chiang Hsia Wong" I looked at the chinese character and its my surname all right. and I tried to pronounce it and whoa, its my ancestors name. So that means its a building filled with my distant relatives :P lol anyways, it look close so I went across the road to take a pic and can come back the next trip. but when i looked into the view finder, I saw a lady by the gate. I dashed across the road and made some inquiry. And I was right, its my clan. So I went in for a tour and waited for the rest to show up cause its their meeting day to plan for "Parents Day" function. anyways, the meeting was great and I got a book which teach me to sing my clan's song. can't read it though cause its in chinese.. lol anyways.. I was introduced to every1 in the meeting and then I left with Jey.

I can say this trip down was fruitful as I ate Melacca food, found a place where I can know more bout my Family history and most of all, meet a very good friend, Jey Tong.

The horrible Nasi Goreng Kampung at the station (Village style Fried Rice)

Beautiful architecture being refurbished across the river

The Fabulous Mamak Cendol (Indian Muslim Shaved Iced) by the river

The stall selling the Mamak Cendol in Melacca

Gosh, Melacca is sure heaven for photographers

Was lazy to type out the name so I took a picture instead

Jonker walk.. there are tons of beautiful architecture here

Just look at that, its just a normal cafe

I just love the way they keep the it at the original state

Woke up really early the next day to have a walk

The authetic nyonya restautant which serve delicious food

The forever small cups used nowadays...

The Siam Noodle :P spicy and sour

This is a trishaw center where people rent trishaw to start business

But its heavily caged :P

The suspicious Backpacker hostel :P

Its only for foreigners.. and they refuse to tell me the price too :P

Melacca Bong Clan building - according to them, its one of the largest in malaysia

this building belongs to my distant ancestors for more than 100 years now

KL .. big city life with big city treatments for visit Malaysia year

Well, I was suppose to shoot my 2nd chinese drama yesterday.. bt.. they canceled off the shooting for the day last minute... i didn't asked why bt i was already in the LRT heading towards my destination and so.. I have to head out and took the LRT back the other way... I got off at Taman Bahagia, PJ and took a bus down to Up-town... did a little chore there before I walked down to One Utama shopping complex.. yup... I always do that.. I remember my 1st time back to Brunei.. I was staying at Kota Batu... Wanted to go downtown.. walk to the main road and just realize that I don't know how to catch a ride to town with the local public transport... so... I walked all the way to town... lol... same thing happened when I 1st step foot in Miri, Sarawak... lol... anyways....

when I was in Up-town... I visited a Sony store.. pic just below... U can see it clearly if ur heading towards One Utama from Kelana Jaya... its just on the left side of the highway... anyways... I went in... A sales person approached me speedily.. and asked me what I wanted? I told him its just casual browsing and I went bout to the shelves to take a look at what I wanted.. He tailed along as expected.. right after he found out that I meant it when I told him its just casual browsing... He totally ignored me and didn't response when I bid him goodbye... is this how you treat you customers? every1 who enters the shop is considered a customer and its their responsibility to take care of the customers... anyways... what a big bang on our "VISIT MALAYSIA YEAR" Promo.. lol

This is the shop im talking bout and the sales person is a plump chinese guy

oh well, won't let those kinda losers ruine my day... lol... so I continued on walking towards One Utama... actually... the reason I wanted to walk so much yesterday was cause I ate too much the whole day and I wanted to shed off some fats... lol...

The landmark which tells you that you are in Bandar Utama.. just beside the TV3 complex.

Anyways, this log is all bout customer service... so.. Im going to carry my AK47 and start firing away.... here are a couple of shops need to make a review on their sales person...

Radioactive... just the other day, i walked into this shop... well... wat really happened is that I walked in right after a Malay couple walked in and this Malay sales person only greated them but not me... How sure am i? well, u might say she kills 2 birds with one stone... hahahaha... I was outside lookin through the mirror when the couple went in.. when I went in, they were well on the other side of the store... there is a partition in between... anyways... I didn't fancy being racial discriminated... but, being polite, i just carried on my browsing... the couple left.. and she thank them and bid them good bye... couple of minutes later, I left walking purposely right in front of her but she just ignored me... the couple didn't buy anything either... so... customer service eh?

This one here is a winner... MAC City...I walked into the store and was greated by a Fat chinese dude with spectacles.... as always, I just told him its only casual browsing... bt he kept on tailing me... so I asked for the price list of the Imac.. He hesitated and said ,"Price list ah...... " with sarcasm in his tone before he took his folder and pulled out a sheet and flap it at me... rudely... I was nice enough not to shout at him that day nor did I purposely throw the sheet in front of the shop... gosh... giving away leaflets is a marketing gimmic.. bt to them, I guess its only worth it to give those RM 0.005 pieces of papers to buying customers.. What a service?

What can I say... I got really bored of complaining... seriously.. I hate to complain.. bt... Can anyone educate these people that customer service is very important.. not only cause ur in the servicing line.. but because you are a human... PLEASE BE A HUMAN .. NOT ACT LIKE ANIMALS... in Malay... its call BINATANG....

Other stalls which has really bad service inside One Utama... Padini.. the one shown above... CK, FCUK, Guess, A/X...... etc...

hey... a word of advice to all the sales person working in those branded store.. do try to remember.. you don't own the store... so tat makes u a wage slave who is not classy.. working inside a classy store doesn't change your class enough to look down on people.. if I were cruel... I'll tell you "If you are rich, why work here... why work at all when you can afford all these branded stuff"

anyways... forget bout the all the real sadist this world have to offer....

I was so excited to finally watch "THE DARK KNIGHT" each and every time me and my friends decide to watch it... Its always fully booked... the rest of the other schedule is not align to my friends working schedule... :( so I got the chance to watch yesterday cause I watch the 5:15pm show....

gosh.. its totally worth watching... bt... bt...... the main attraction of the movie is the JOKER... not cause its his 2nd last movie.. bt its how he portrayed the joker... how he got into the role.. the character... the movie totally came alive cause of the late Heith... all cheers to him.. please.. please... watch THE DARK KNIGHT.... I totally enjoyed the experience.. and wouldn't mind watching it again... but at another cinema... the one I went to.. was totally Freezing like the north pole... Tanjung Golden Village... and if you all wanna watch it... please book a day or 2 earlier... its still fully booked up till today...

The Joker... WHY SO SERIOUS? LET ME PUT A SMILE ON YOUR FACE!!

Visit Malaysia year........... the hospitality... hmm...

Like I said........ With all the advertisement and marketing plan the Malaysia gov waste their money on... i would give it a rating............ -0% at the moment.... ok ok... im going to be nice... il give it a 0.1% gosh... at the rate the customer service is going around... i guess there is no hope to impress the tourist... if it cant impress me at all.... how can it impress the foreigners... :S

so anyways, there i was, in Kuantan... tired from the overnight trip all the way from Johor... didn't sleep at all... and I have to come back to KL for my 1st movie public screening.... anyways.... went to the bus terminal... went bout to look for the earliest coach back to KL... and so.. i came across Plusliner... as pictured below... as u can see, I don't have to elaborate on wat sorta person is working at the booth... and so.. i approached and asked for the price... she told me "RM17.80" and I thought the price is reasonable.. so i paid her "RM20" she returned me "RM2" and I asked her, where is my "RM0.20" and she told me she don't have coins. and I asked her.. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?" and passed her the "RM0.80" she unwillingly handed over A Ringgit and didn't even bother to smile or thank me... neither did i receive a greet.... so anyways, weren't satisfied with the service... I walked towards the bus... while waiting for the bus, i took a look at the ticket and found out that the actual price for the ticket is "RM16.80" she is charging me "RM1" extra... for all you travelers, please check your correct ticket price before paying in Malaysia... MALAYSIA MEMANG BOLEH!!

The Respectable booth...... with the right sorta ppl working...

The proof of the actual price....
